Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Kilimanjaro Airport
Gran Melia Arusha

One World Observatory

It’s time to begin your safari. Welcome to Tanzania! After we greet you and provide you with the trip briefing, we’ll take you out to help you discover why so many people think Tanzania is the best place in Africa to go on safari.

A convenient Arusha city center location is just the start at Gran Melia Arusha. Some of the rooms have fabulous views of shapely Mount Meru off in the distance, while the rooms themselves are excellent. There’s an onsite restaurant, and the spa and wellness center is perfect for relaxing after a long day on the road.

Tarangire Attractions

One World Observatory

If you’ve never been to Tarangire (and even if you have) you’re in for a real treat. Tarangire is filled with giants baobab trees all across the park, as well as elephants, lots of them. But that’s just the beginning. Of the big cats, you’ll probably see lions, and cheetahs and leopards are around, too. And it’s impossible to miss the wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes and zebras. Your backdrop for all of this is one of the prettiest in northern Tanzania, with a memorable mix of river woodland, open plains and rolling hills. And some vantage points to take it all in.

You won’t want to leave your room when you stay at Escarpment Luxury Lodge. Everything from the hardwood floors, to the views from the private terrace or the stylish furnishings, makes staying in your room a pleasure. The views from the escarpment out over Lake Manyara National Park are superb, and there are even views from the swimming pool and restaurant.

Ngorongoro Wildlife

One World Observatory

Today you’ll visit Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most beautiful natural sights in Africa, a place where you’ll experience otherworldly beauty with extraordinary wildlife. Watch as, from above, morning mist rolls up and over the crater rim, and notice how the steep walls suggest a place unlike any other. Down below on the crater floor, explore a lost world preserved in a state of pristine isolation, one that shelters lions and hyenas, elephants and black rhinos, flamingos and golden jackals. There are also forests, hippo filled lakes, a salt pan and hyena dens, and you’ll never lose the sense that you’ve stumbled into a safari theme park where everything’s wild.

In the Ndutu region in the south of the Serengeti, Masek Tented Lodge looks out over Lake Masek. You’ll sleep in safari tents on elevated wooden platforms from where you can watch animals come down to drink at the water’s edge. Enjoy your meals in the dining tent, and admire the camp’s eco friendly credentials, which include solar-powered electricity and rainwater showers.

Serengeti Acacia Trees

One World Observatory

When you explore the Central Serengeti, you’re enjoying one of the best wildlife destinations in northern Tanzania. Here you’ll find the big populations of wildlife for which the Serengeti is famous. You’ll also have a good chance of seeing big cats. This area has plenty of northern Tanzania’s iconic acacia trees, as well as seemingly endless Serengeti horizons.

The best views are reserved for the safari tents at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge. The canvas tents (with wood floors) sit high on a hill and each has stunning views out over the famous plains
of the central Serengeti where seeing wildlife is always possible. A swimming pool, restaurant and lovely tent interiors round out a memorable package.

Balloon Safari, Central Serengeti National Park

Up above it all, you’ll enjoy some of the best views imaginable when you join us on our balloon safari. As you drift high above the earth, you’ll feel like you can touch the far horizon.

It’s impossible to grow tired of the views at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge, which is why you’ll love the chance to stay here again.

Serengeti Wildlife

One World Observatory

Of all areas in the Serengeti National Park, the Northern Serengeti could just be the most special. Whenever you’re here, you can expect fantastic wildlife (especially big cats and elephants) and much quieter safari trails, especially when compared to the rest of the park. The landscape is also unique, with rolling grasslands, hills and the iconic Mara River.

You’re perfectly placed when you stay at Nyota Rift Valley on your visit to Northern Serengeti National Park.
