Day 1: Arusha – Momella Gate – Miriakamba Hut
3 Days Mount Meru Climbing

Your 3-day Mount Meru climbing adventure starts in Arusha with a transfer to Arusha National Park. After registration at Momella Gate, the trek starts through lush montane forest rich with wildlife such as giraffes, buffalo, and colobus monkeys. Accompanied by a professional mountain guide and armed ranger, you gradually ascend scenic trails with spectacular views of Momella Lakes and open savannah. The hike to Miriakamba Hut takes approximately 4–6 hours, allowing steady acclimatization.

Upon arrival, enjoy a freshly prepared hot dinner and relax as you take in beautiful sunset views over the plains.

3 Days Mount Meru Climbing

One World Observatory

After an early breakfast, continue your Mount Meru trek through forest and moorland landscapes toward Saddle Hut. The trail becomes steeper as you gain altitude, offering panoramic views of Meru Crater and distant Mount Kilimanjaro. This stage takes 3–5 hours and is crucial for proper acclimatization before summit day.

After lunch at Saddle Hut, you may take an optional short hike to Little Meru for additional acclimatization and sunset photography. Rest, enjoy a hearty dinner, and prepare for a midnight summit attempt.

3 Days Mount Meru Climbing

One World Observatory

Summit day begins around midnight with a challenging climb along the crater rim to Socialist Peak (4,565m). Reaching the summit at sunrise rewards you with breathtaking views over Mount Kilimanjaro, Meru Crater, and the surrounding Tanzanian landscape. After celebrating and taking photos, descend back to Saddle Hut for brunch before continuing down to Momella Gate.

A transfer returns you to Arusha, marking the end of your unforgettable Mount Meru climbing experience.
