Day 1: Arrival At Kilimanjaro International Airport To Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro international airport, you will be warmly greeted by your driver guide, after short introduction you will be offered bottles of mineral water followed by a private transfer to Osiligilai Maasai Lodge in west Kilimanjaro. At the arrival you will be warmly welcomed by friendly Maasai staff as they greet you with traditional Maasai dance and song. There will be served a traditional Maasai welcome drink before you will be guided to your private guesthouse built as traditional Maasai huts. Depending on time of arrival there will be time to relax by the pool.

In the early morning you can enjoy the amazing sunrise over Mt. Kilimanjaro from your bed. After breakfast you will take a nature walk with a Maasai guide in the surroundings area of the lodge. Your guide will share all insights of how the Maasai people live, what they eat, how they survive in nature and make use of natural herbs for both food and medicine. You will see the famous rock climbing trees, and pass a Maasai cave that has it own tradition and history. There is a small lake close to the lodge where the wild animals often will come to drink water in the early morning.

After lunch you can join the Maasai as they collect herbs for the traditional Maasai soup for tonight. This is a short walk, during which you will learn about the different plants that can be eaten. You will also learn what plant not to touch or eat.

At 5:30pm it is time for the exciting spear throwing competition! Can you beat the Maasai and hit the wooden lion target with the Maasai spear? At 6:00pm you can enjoy a cold drink while the Maasai dance their sundown dance. Dancing between Mt Meru and Mt Kilimanjaro is really a sundown you to remember! At 6.30 it is time for MTV (Maasai TV). Together with our Maasai staff you will gather around the fireplace where you can taste the traditional Maasai BBQ which is goat. Listen to all their great stories and just enjoy the moment. They will tell you all about their way of living and traditions, and you will learn more about their countless traditions and ceremonies. Overnight at Osiligilai Maasai Lodge.

Tarangire Elephant

In the morning after healthy breakfast from the kitchen of professional Cooks, you will embark to Tarangire national park for authentic photographic game drives and game drives. Tarangire is Tanzania’s third largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are also an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Your photography game drives may reveal lions, giraffes, wildebeest, elephants, Zebras, wildebeests and much more. Lunchboxes shall be served to you by your driver guide at the picnic site inside the park with some rest before proceeding with photography game drives.

Later after amazing hours of exploration and authentic shots of nature and its content, you will exit the park and drive to Karatu for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight at Maweninga Tented Camp.

Ngorongoro Attractions

After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, descending into the famous Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. Witness the dense wildlife population, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, rhinos, and flamingos. Picnic lunch is served in a scenic crater spot. Afternoon game drives continue to explore the crater’s breathtaking scenery. Late afternoon, check into Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, offering luxury accommodation perched on the crater rim with spectacular views.

Relax, enjoy a sundowner, and savor a candlelit dinner overlooking the vast African landscape. This day combines adventure, romance, and intimate wildlife encounters in one of Tanzania’s most iconic destinations.

Serengeti Wildlife

This morning, your drive takes you to the Serengeti national park via the “eighth wonder of the world”, popular Known as the Ngorongoro. On your way, you will visit the Oldupai Gorge site for a museum tour. This is an archaeological museum where the remains and signs of the first man which were Discovered by Dr Leakey and Marry Luice are preserved. Later, proceed further to Serengeti national park. On crossing the border, picnic lunches will be served to you followed by game drives en route to Sametu Camp.

Tanzania Game Drive

After breakfast depart with your packed lunches for the “Great Serengeti game drives”, likely the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world. The vast Serengeti plains cover an area of over 14,763 square kilometres and derived its name from Maasai Language meaning endless plain. This massive plain is home to many animals including Lions, Elephants, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Zebra, Leopard, and Cheetah, warthogs, Hyena plus a lots and lots of bird life live here. In many cases migration is taking place around Serengeti and at that particular time millions of wildebeest and zebra mingle together followed by predators.

Our professional safari guide will lead you through the right trails and amaze you his skills in locating and interpreting wildlife behaviors and their lives in general making sure you have the best time to enjoy these great phenomenon. Overnight at Sametu Camp.

Every day is a new day in Serengeti with different amazing series of events. After breakfast, you will leave the camp with your packed lunches for another memorable day towards the Ngorongoro conservation area. On this day still you will have a great opportunity to explore the Serengeti ecosystem with great possibility to spot any other animals that you did not see in your first days. Lunchboxes shall be served to you at the picnic point followed by a further game drive to Taasa private Reserve in the northern edge of the Serengeti national park. Dinner and Overnight at Taasa Lodge.

Tanzania Night Game Drive

Today at leisure, you will embark on leisurely nature walk around the Lodge`s private reserve. Walking in the bush, surrounded by all the sights, sounds and smells of Africa is completely different and more personal experience than a drive in a Safari vehicle. Learn about medicinal plants, how to start a fire with sticks, and the wildlife you might encounter. Later, return to the lodge for relaxation and for lunch. Should you need, you can also visit the MAASAI HONEY & CANDLE project. Maasai Honey is a beekeeping project located in the small village of Ololosokwan.

The mission is to teach the local Maasai women how to harvest honey and make candles as a means to introduce a sustainable income generating project. Thereafter, you will embark on a night game drive in the Serengeti national park using the open sided safari vehicle in search of Nocturnal animals and a test of the night game drives experience. Later return to the lodge for dinner and Overnight Melia Zanzibar.
