Arrival Day; Airport To Arusha:

Destinations: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

    Leave the hotel with packed lunches and drive towards Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s third largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lion, leopard, and cheetah and up to six thousand elephant. Lunch boxes will be provided to you at the picnic point. After game drive proceed to Maramboi Tented Camp www.twctanzania.com for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park

    In the morning after breakfast drive to Serengeti national park passing Ngorongoro conservation area authority, your driver will stop in some of the beautiful views overlooking the crater, further continue via Olduvai Gorge (optional) the cradle of mankind, Where Dr Louis and Mary Leakey made a significant discovery of the first man. On crossing the border picnic lunch will be provided by your driver guide followed by game viewing en route. Drive further for sun set game drive before going to Serengeti Tortilis Camp for dinner and overnight www.tortiliscamps.com.

  • Day 3: Lake Manyara To Serengeti

  • Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

  • Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

    After breakfast you will descend into the crater for a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater often described as one of the wonders of the world an designated Unesco World Heritage site, is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. With a bit of luck the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only. Then late afternoon drive back to Arusha Overnight at Green Mountain Hotel (BB)

    After breakfast at leisure; afterwards transfer to Arusha Airport for Zanzibar flight.
