Overview

03 Days Mount Meru climbing

Mount Meru is arranged in the center of Arusha National Park and 50 miles west of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Mount Meru is a colossal dormant well of magma towering to 14, 980 feet (4,565 meters).Mount Meru Climbing is an ideal climb for those preparing for Mt. Kilimanjaro due to itselevation and acclimatization opportunity. This trek has fewer groups compared to Mount Kilimanjaro and is a difficult climb due to its steep slopes. Since Mount Meru trekking starts from Arusha National Park, explorers must climb with a guide due to the wildlife living on the mountain. On the lower inclinations of the mountain, hikers can observe elephants, giraffes, and buffalo. As explorers continue with their climb, the trial passes thenorth edge of the spring of spouting magma's gap along a spectacular edge line. Duringthe climb, explorers rest in relegated huts along the trail. Explorers accomplish the summit during sunrise allowing for amazing viewpoints on Mt. Kilimanjaro and of Mt. Meru Crater.

This is Africa’s fifth peak (4563m) and Tanzania second after Kilimanjaro, with lower slopes covered in dense highland forest, where colobus monkeys play and buffalos graze. The extinct volcano’s extensive base gives way to a beautifully formed crater. From the slope of the mountain you can see the momella lake and Ngurudoto crater. Climbing Mount Meru can be tricky but the absence of attitude sickness makes it a beautiful climb that you should look forward to make.
