Uganda is a popular destination for gorilla trekking, offering an incredible opportunity to witness these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Here's an overview of a 5-days gorilla trekking itinerary in Uganda.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be met by our safari guide who will transfer you to Kampala to a hotel booked for you. In case you have had an early flight to Uganda, you will be taken on a brief tour of the city of Kampala. And you’ll be briefed about tomorrow’s journey start on the Gorilla Tracking and Kibale Chimps trek safari Dinner and Overnight at Ministers’ Village Hotel.
We start our Gorilla Tracking and Kibale Chimps trek safari after an early breakfast and set off from Kampala, travel westwards to Bwindi for approximately 9-10 hours. You will have a brief stop at the Equator for an opportunity for you to stand in two hemispheres at the same time and take some photographs. You will continue the journey through the beautiful verdant rolling hills characteristic of this part of the country. You will have a lunch break in Mbarara town and then continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park arriving late in the afternoon hours. Dinner and overnight at Broadbill Forest Camp.
The 3rd day of the Gorilla Tracking and Kibale Chimps trek safari sets off after an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters where you will be briefed by the guides before you begin the search in the thick Bwindi forest for the giant gorillas. Bwindi National Park is renowned for its impressive mountain gorillas, although it is unpredictable for how long you will track before finding them since it all depends on their movement. Though the time spent to track down these Gorillas is unpredictable, the thrill of spending time and observing these gentle giant gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure that will leave you with long lasting memories of a truly unique experience. You will then travel to Kasese town where you will spend the night at Sandton Hotel.
After breakfast you will descend into the crater for a wonderful crater
tour with a picnic lunch inside the Ngorongoro Crater often described as one of the
wonders of the world a designated Unesco World Heritage; It is the world’s largest
intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal
populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in
their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its
2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos,
jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. With a bit of luck the ‘Big
Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only. Then late afternoon drive back to
Arusha for overnight at Kibo palace hotel (BB) www.kibopalacehotel.com
