A 7 days Kenya walking safari is an adventurous and immersive experience that allows you to explore the diverse landscapes and wildlife of Kenya on foot. Walking safaris offer a unique opportunity to connect with nature and experience the wilderness up close, guided by experienced and knowledgeable safari guides.
Upon arrival at Kenyatta international airport, you will be warmly greeted by your driver guide, after short introduction you will be offered bottles of mineral water followed by a private transfer to Sarova Panafricfor dinner and overnight.
Upon your arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly received by our Tour Manager who will brief you about your safari as you depart for a Nairobi City Tour. You will visit the Nairobi City centre, shopping centers and the Parliament buildings. The city market has a wide variety of African curios, tropical fruits and flowers for sale. You will also visit the Kenyatta International Conference Centre view-point from where you can get a clear view of the bustling Nairobi City. The Railway Museum will fascinate you as you observe exhibited old steam locomotives which include one from which Superintendent John Lyall was taken from by a man-eating lion in Tsavo in 1901. You will take a lunch break at one of the famous City Restaurants and after lunch depart for a walk to the National Museum for a cultural tour as well as the adjacent Snake Park for a view of some of the common reptiles found in Kenya. After your tour, you will check in at your hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Dinner and overnight at Wildebeest Camp.
After breakfast, you will depart for the Bomas of Kenya, which is a homestead famous traditional dancing and cultural centre. You will be able to see where the day-to-day lives of the 43 different ethnic groups in Kenya are depicted through traditional dancing, music, song and folklore. You will also experience the subtle sounds of African bush on foot, where you smell the fresh aroma of the morning grass with a local tribe guide guiding you with intimate knowledge to ensure that you do not miss a thing. Break for lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant and then visit the Nairobi Safari Walk, based 7km away from the city centre and about 30 meters from the entrance of the Nairobi National Park. Afterwards, return to your hotel for overnight stay and dinner.
The Nairobi Safari Walk is an eye opener to Kenya's National Parks and Reserves. It offers a thrilling opportunity to learn what visitors can expect to see across the country. It gives a taste of Kenya's wild and rich collection of animals which include the white rhino, rare bongo, albino zebra, collection of cats, primates and antelopes and home to over 150 recorded local tree and plant species. The park is a conservation-cum-education facility which gives visitors a sample of Kenya's rich bio-diversity. Within the park is a viewing point right above a watering hole where visitors get an opportunity to see all sorts of game as they arrive to quench their thirst. The area also has benches for those who prefer to sit and listen to birds singing and insects humming. The park has been designed to blend in with the natural environment as it is made of sisal, gum poles, waste bins and recycled items. Dinner and overnight at Wildebeest Camp or similar.
After your breakfast, depart Nairobi City and drive to the Aberdares in Central Province arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, depart for a foot trek through the Aberdare Mountains, a fascinating walk amongst the exotic flora and fauna. From here you will be able to have breath-taking views of the Rift Valley. The experience is made much real and memorable by camping above the surrounding forest with possible encounters with big game such as buffalo, bush bucks, antelopes and elephants.
The Aberdares overlooks the Great Rift Valley and lies on its Eastern edge. A wide variety of wildlife species inhabit these mountain ranges, hiding in the heavily forested slopes and moorlands. The climate is usually cool with plenty of fresh mountain streams. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a set up camp in the mountains.
Spend these lovely days taking walks in the mountains exploring the vast lands especially looking out for wildlife in the company of a trained and armed game ranger. You will walk through moorlands, forested slopes, bamboo forests, breaking regularly for rests and meals. If the weather permits, you could take a short game viewing drive in the forests. In the evening, pitch camp and enjoy your dinner. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a set up camp in the mountains.
After breakfast, depart the moorland camp and descend by vehicle looking out for wildlife on the way. Drop off the guide and return to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon in time for lunch at the famous Carnivore restaurant. After lunch you will be dropped off at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your flight to your next destination.
